Video teaching by White Rose Maths for year 4 is not available this week. They haven't given details but I suspect something to do with the covid virus. Other years are still available.

This week in year 4 will be testing the children to evaluate their progress over the autumn term. To this end we will have less time for actual maths lessons however we shall be keeping up our work on the basics. Last week we reviewed the nine times tables and this week we shall focus on the most challenging of primary school tables, the sevens. The sevens, being an odd number table and not near the friendly table of 5 and 10 has few patterns to help children remember.  2x, 5x, 10x and 11x are good starts and adding or subtracting 7 from these easy ones fills most gaps. 7x6 is supposed to be the most difficult of all answers to remember. Unless your a fan of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!!!
