We hope you have all had a restful and enjoyable break and we welcome you back to the new year.

This is a very important term in Year 6, as we begin to focus more on the requirements of the SATs. Over the term, the children will continue to receive homework and we hope that you will support your child by encouraging them to continue to read widely and to complete the work that we send home. The aim of these activities is to provide further opportunities for your child to practice the learning that is going on in school and to highlight gaps in learning that we need to address.

Towards the end of this term, we will be holding a parent’s SATs meeting to share the processes that the SATs will entail and how we at Little Bowden are going to implement the tests. We feel it is very important not to overwhelm the children or overplay the importance of one test; therefore, we will continue to offer a fully rounded curriculum to ensure that your child enjoys school and is motivated to learn.
