Hello everyone and welcome back!
We hope you all had a very well-deserved rest over the half term break. This half term our new topic will be Pets and Animals!
Little Bowden has Talent!
Our friendship group meetings on Teams this week (week commencing 22nd February) will have a focus of ‘LITTLE BOWDEN HAS TALENT!’ Your child is invited to do their ‘Show and Tell’ this week all about a talent they have. This may be a hobby, or a special skill that they have learnt at a club they normally go to when it is not ‘Lockdown’ (e.g. football, karate, dance). Your child may prefer to play an instrument, sing a song, recite a poem, tell a joke, do a puppet show, speak in another language etc. We wanted to focus on the children’s well-being this week as we settle back into the routine of home-schooling and we thought this would be a good way of getting everyone involved and having fun. Any grown ups with a talent to show are welcome to join in the fun too!
On the following week, (week commencing 1st March) our Teams sessions will focus on Pets and Animals. Usually at school we would have had our ‘Pet Week’. Children would have been invited to bring their pets into the classroom and talk about them in front of their friends. This is a great way for the children to share their knowledge and understanding about different animals with the rest of the class as well as building their self-confidence.
We thought that this year, we could have our ‘Pets and Animals Week’ on Teams instead. Your child might choose to do their ‘Show and Tell’ about their own pet, a story book or fact book about an animal, a drawing or painting of their favourite animal or a toy animal from home.
World Book Day
World Book Day this year is on Thursday 4th March. We would like to invite the children to dress up as a character from their favourite book for a special class Teams meeting. We will be sharing stories altogether and discussing our favourite books as a class.
