Wednesday

Phonics

  • Today we will practise reading our 'red words'.
  • Visit the Phonics Play website: https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/
  • Use the login details below
  • Username: jan21     Password: home
  • Go to 'Resources' and click 'Tricky Word Trucks'.
  • Select 'Phase 3' then choose your truck.
  • Ask a grown-up to help you by clicking 'correct' or 'incorrect' as you read the words out loud to them.
  • Afterwards, replay the game and see if you can beat your previous score.
  • Challenge yourself to write out some of these 'red words'. Ask a grown-up to read one out loud and have a go at writing it down. Use your red word list to help you with your spelling. 

English/Writing

  • Lots of animals lived on the farm in the story ‘What the Ladybird Heard’. Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len used a map to help them find their way around. The animals came up with a plot to trick them and get them caught!
  • See if you can have a go at labelling the animals on their map (below).
  • Alternatively, you might like to draw your own farm map with animals on and have a go at labelling it yourself.

Maths

Whizzy Maths

Go to the White Rose Maths website - select Home Learning  - EYFS - Building 9 and 10 week 3 - select session 3 - Printing with 3-D shapes.

Have fun printing in play dough! Can you make a repeating pattern e.g. circle triangle triangle circle triangle triangle circle triangle triangle. Can you describe your pattern in terms of the shapes and also in terms of the structure of the repeat i.e. this is a ABB ABB ABB pattern.

Top
