Welcome to year 4 computing for the first half of the spring term

The original planning for this half term involved mini computer boards, lots of wire, some lego and a bit of programming. All of the equipment is at school and the children are at home. So we have a new unit,

Video editing. This unit will need access to recording equipment but a basic iPad or smartphone is ideal. Rather than reinvent the wheel we have accessed Oak Academy and their excellent online teaching and resources. Jane Adamson's lessons are engaging and well planned. The unit is aimed at year five but I have watched it all the way through and I think year 4 can rise to the challenge. I have decided to put all six lessons on the website along with the worksheets (not many) and a powerpoint that helps you to see some of the activities in stages. The aim is to  spread these lesson over the following five weeks, however if your child is keen to move on and you feel it is appropriate then please carry on. Feed back would be appreciated as well as any completed videos for the website
