Over the past 4 weeks Mr Moir and Mr Clarke have joined forces to run a summer sports club. With COVID 19 putting the school year to an end in March, time has flown by and suddenly we are edging ever closer to all students returning after the summer holidays. The idea behind this club was based around the fact that some children haven't been within the school environment since lockdown therefore what better way to ease back into the swing of things than having loads of fun playing lots of sports with your friends! Observing the government guidelines both Mr Clarke and Mr Moir having been running sessions for year group bubbles ranging from years 1 - 5 playing lots of different sports such as: Football, Cricket, Rounders, and loads of different ball games.
All of the children that managed to attend had loads of fun and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities but more importantly were grateful for the chance to be able to socialise with their friends once more! The Harborough Mail heard about all the club and how successful it was so they even decided to interview Mr Clarke and write the report in the paper. Recently our PE Department have received some fantastic awards from the School Games organisers. We are incredibly proud to receive these awards as we always work tirelessly to make sure all of our students get the best possible opportunities for PE and school sports competitions. So we would just like to say a massive thank you to all staff, students and parents that take part in PE within our school we couldn't do it without you!!!
Welcome to Little Bowden's sports page, please take a look around. If you have any enquires regarding sport please do not hesitate to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Within Little Bowden we have a strong dedicated PE Department that work alongside the teachers and support staff, ensuring all children get consistent, inclusive, high quality PE. We offer a wide range of sports that give children the opportunity to develop skills that are transferable between sports and outdoor activities.
Last year (2018/19) we managed to achieve our Gold school games mark! Our aim is to keep School sports and PE to this standard.
Working from foundation right the way up, our goal is to cater for every child’s individual needs, offering close support within lessons so all pupils are pushed to succeed.
We pride ourselves in the extra-curricular clubs that we offer, that aim to give children a chance to take part in different sports. As a school we enter as many competitions as possible putting as higher number of teams that we can with the goal to give every child a chance to represent the school and get a feel for competitive sport within their time at Little Bowden. We are also delighted to announce that currently (March 2020) we have a fantastic attendance at our clubs. 92.8% of our Key Stage 2 pupils currently attend at least one sports club.
We are always looking for new sponsors . If you are interested in becoming a new sponsor for equipment or team kits please email us at email@example.com.
We are now on Twitter! Our page will be used for posting Sports news and updates, celebrating school sports team results as well as individual achievements, in or out of school! Give us a follow and keep up to date! @LBS_PE
