Sports News and Updates

Welcome to Little Bowden's sports page

At Little Bowden we have a dedicated PE team that work alongside teachers and support staff to provide high quality PE to the children at our school. We work tirelessly to ensure that all of our lessons are fun, engaging and inclusive with a strong emphasis on developing skills that are transferable between sports and outdoor activities. We are proud to be able to provide a vast PE curriculum that gives the children maximum opportunity to experience all kinds of sports. Working from foundation right the way up, our goal is to cater for every child’s individual needs, offering close support within lessons so all pupils are pushed to succeed. We are delighted to announce that in 2018/19 we earned our Gold school games mark. Our aim is to be able to maintain school sports and PE to this standard.

Please feel free to take a look around our page to find out what we get up too and if you have any questions then do not hesitate to contact us on our email address and we will get back to you ASAP.

Many thanks,

Little Bowden PE Department

Clubs - 2021

*No clubs can currently take place but watch this space!!*

As a school, we also pride ourselves in the extra-curricular clubs that we offer including, ones before school, at lunchtime and after school all ran by our highly qualified PE teachers. To encourage a competitive element within the children, we enter as many external competitions as possible on offer against other schools local to Market Harborough. So then all children have the chance to be able to represent our school at competitions, we enter the highest number of teams possible.

If you would like your child to participate in a sports club then please use the below link to fill out the consent form online:

Summer sports club 2020

Over the Summer,  Mr Moir and Mr Clarke have joined forces to run a summer sports club. With COVID 19 putting the school year to an end in March, time has flown by and suddenly we are edging ever closer to all students returning after the summer holidays. The idea behind this club was based around the fact that some children haven't been within the school environment since lockdown therefore what better way to ease back into the swing of things than having loads of fun playing lots of sports with your friends! Observing the government guidelines both Mr Clarke and Mr Moir having been running sessions for year group bubbles ranging from years 1 - 5 playing lots of different sports such as: Football, Cricket, Rounders, and loads of different ball games.

All of the children that managed to attend had loads of fun and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities but more importantly were grateful for the chance to be able to socialise with their friends once more!  The Harborough Mail heard about all the club and how successful it was so they even decided to interview Mr Clarke and write the report in the paper.
